Glennis crushes America in the semi-final

We are quite tense. Because: is she really going to win it? That would be something.

The semi-final of America’s Got Talent was full of emotion for Glennis. No nerves to be seen, just that insane voice that we already knew she had. But you still have to perform there. Glennis sang ‘This Woman’s Work‘, written by Kate Bush in the eighties and a hit by singer Maxwell in 2001. It’s about losing a child. That made the singer emotional.

About the song, Glennis says: ‘There are so many people who have to go through that. Such songs are important then, and I think that’s beautiful. Then you can really convey something to the people. That’s why the song still touched me.’

And yes, she did it. She sang the song at her best, with high notes as if it were nothing and rightly received a standing ovation from the jury. A good sign: tomorrow we will hear if she really made it to the final. ‘I had a good feeling while singing, but when all four jury members stand up when you’re done, that really gives an incredibly good feeling.’ Also nice: the strict jury member Simon Cowell called her performance ‘the best of the evening’. Well, that promises a lot for that coveted spot in the final. How can you sing so perfectly at such a tense moment? An absolute professional.

It would surprise us if she doesn’t make it. And that she’s not just going to win. Just listen to her performance from yesterday, and you’ll understand.

In any case, she gets support from a lot of Dutch corners. Her buddy Fred wishes her a lot of success:

Giel Beelen is also a fan:

And of course, the Ladies of Soul also have something to say:
