Going on vacation with your hand luggage will never be the same again
Of course it's smart to, when you take a weekend abroad only roll a small suitcase.
This way you can get through the airport quickly. You don't have to wait at the baggage claim for your large suitcase and honestly: surprisingly, a small one can hold a lot. Definitely three pairs of shoes, two dresses, a pair of pants, a sweater, a raincoat, a bikini, and a beach outfit. In other words: enough for a weekend to any destination.
But uh, now there's panic. Because soon you won't be allowed to take a suitcase as hand luggage anymore. WHAT? Yes indeed. With Ryanair, a suitcase no longer counts as hand luggage. Whether it's a small suitcase or not, you will have to pay. From November 1st, you need to be careful when flying with this airline; from then on, only backpacks, laptop bags, or handbags can be taken on board for free. They claim it's not to save money, or to earn an extra buck from everyone who hasn't read this message. It's supposed to be aimed at reducing long lines and thus minimizing delays.
If you, as a cheeky rebel, still want to take a suitcase on board, it will cost you between 6 and 10 euros extra. And by the way, it can't go to your seat; it will just be checked in. There goes your quick ride through the airport. Let's just hope that KLM and Transavia don't uh... listen to this.
