Why scoring a date in Utrecht is not that easy yet

Something is going on in Uutje. I can tell because I see it happening. On the street, in the pub, while shopping. There are too many of us. At least. The women are too many.
We have known for a while that there are many female students wandering around in the Dom city, but the CBS now makes it all very concrete: Utrecht has the largest female surplus in the Netherlands. For every 100 women, there are ‘only’ 73 men. It doesn't sound so serious, but according to research, the impact is certainly there. Women are increasingly among themselves, which affects relationships and society.
Who run the world? Girls. We see female surpluses more often in the big cities, and it mainly has to do with more women going to study and then moving to the cities where they are in school. Men often stay living at home a bit longer. Even when I look at the student associations here, I see more women than men. In fact, we even have student associations that are only for women. Besides Utrecht, Leiden, Maastricht, Nijmegen, Wageningen, and Amsterdam are also in the top ten.
So is it all over for healthy relationships in Utrecht? Not at all. It does have an impact on how men view relationships. Because when there is so much choice, well, people become picky, under the guise of ‘it can always be better’, which leads to arrogant men and slightly frustrated women. Not great. Let's keep it normal, okay, boys?
