Lynn's December month in euros
The cash book of another arouses an unbearable curiosity in me. Do the groceries you buy consist only of trendy A-brands? Do you even do groceries or do you know the restaurant menu of Maris Pieper and the Spaghetteria by heart? Is there a Zalando guy shouting at your front door every day or do you live very modestly and have a weakness for Transavia deals? I find it incredibly interesting. Especially in the month where money flows down the drain like Moët & Chandon in the throat of Kim Kardashian.
The idea is that I (a 23-year-old couchsurfer) will share my expenses with you weekly this December. Something with half-heartedness. I have the habit of putting my Dr. Martens between the door of the Bijenkorf at the very last moment and buying gifts. The big expenses come at the end, but I am already preparing myself for fireworks.
Enough chit-chat, this was my week in euros:
The debit card was actually pulled one minute after midnight on December 1.
I was in the city:
4 poisoning shots: free
1 vodka-cassis: €7.40
2 vodka-7UP: €9.40
2 vodka-7UP: free
Entrance party: paid by my girlfriend
Taxi: €26.00
Saturday
Dressed as a Christmas tree meets disco ball meets Gemma Glitter to a carnival party:
Outfit: from the costume box
Pre-drinks (Aperol Spritz): €10.50
Entrance + unlimited drinks: €22.00
Sunday
Hungover, hungoverest from Eindhoven back to Amsterdam:
Bus and train: €14.00
Sushito sushi bowl: €14.75
Memorable Monday:
Spendings: €0
Tuesday
After a day at the office, into the supermarket for a single dinner:
Brandless macaroni
Stir-fry vegetables
Heinz pasta sauce
Two bars of cappuccino and butterscotch chocolate
Coconut/mango tea
€9,00
Wednesday:
After work treating a friend to a snack and drink at the Tulp in the Pijp:
Pumpkin curry
Goat cheese salad
Chicken yakitori
Truffle croquettes
4 Sauvignon Blanc
€45,00
Thursday
Back to the south to take a campaign photo in the city. Spent the rest of the day behind my laptop:
Bus and train: €14.00
Coffee for mom: €2.50
Tea for me: €2.20
Total €18.70
Friday
Exercising and a 80-year-old grandma. Then babysitting, so something goes into the drawer:
Personal training (converted per lesson): €11
Red roses for grandma: €20
Final score: €155.45 in 7 days.
This is a dream score for me. There are times when this is the final balance after a visit to the drugstore where I intend to buy only dry shampoo. But as I said: later this month probably screaming kitchen maids and firecrackers.
To be continued…
