Homeland stops

The day seemed to start so beautifully with a symphony orchestra of birds, an overdose of sunshine, and a temperature of 16 degrees at eight o'clock in the morning. As I open my laptop, with a perfectly brewed cup of coffee by my side, the worldwide web throws a wrench in my beautiful day. My favorite series is coming to an end. Homeland is stopping. At least, according to actress Claire Danes, the end is in sight and the eighth season of the series will be the last. This was reported by Carrie, known from Homeland, in a radio program by Howard Stern. In passing, she added that she also had good news: she is expecting a baby this summer. The arrival of her second child will not affect the planning of the series; the filming for season eight will only take place once she has finished her last breastfeeding.

Claire has mixed feelings about the end of the series. Of course, Danes struggles with the farewell. Still, she mainly sees the stop as a release. ‘A character like Carrie is hard work because of the stressful character. At some point, it reaches its limit.’

The creators of Homeland are keeping their lips tightly sealed for now, and the network Showtime is silent as well, but the chance that there will be a Homeland without Danes is quite small. And I understand that. Unfortunately.

I will, of course, keep you updated, you understand that.
