Lil’ Kleine: ‘My mother did very terrible things to me as a child’
An exploded group chat last night. Everyone is watching ‘Where is the Mole?’. You know, the show where Johnny de Mol travels with famous Dutch people. They are allowed to bring someone along as well. Lil’ Kleine chooses his brand new fiancée Jaimie and his father. Destination? Tanzania and Zanzibar.
There are questions. So many questions. And thoughts. Wow, that boy is damaged. Wow, what money. Wow, what lips. Is she really diving into the sea with a Rolex? Wow, what a brand brigade in the suitcase, from cap to slippers; everything is Gucci. By the way, does he really call hippos whores now? Magnificent animals, those giraffes, so, so thick, man.
With Johnny, he talks for the first time about his childhood and the missing relationship with his mother. “My mother did very terrible things to me as a child,” he says visibly emotional. “You don’t do those things to a child. Not at all to anyone and especially not to your own child.”
The rapper has now zero contact with his mother. “I closed that off at a young age. And I might be very harsh about it, but I have no feelings about it anymore. My life is now focused on my father, until he is no longer here.”
Johnny points out to him that his childhood would probably have looked completely different if he hadn’t had his father. A brief silence. “I think I wouldn’t have been here anymore.” The answer does break your heart a little. Suddenly I feel deep respect for this boy. What does Lil’ Kleine have a big mouth, but Jorik especially has a very small heart.
