American vlogger under fire
Vlogging, yeah sorry, I get that it's all the rage these days, but I don't see the appeal. Just give me a good season of Manhunt: Unabomber on Netflix or something like that, but watching how people spend their days, I'd rather pass. So when I came across the name Logan Paul on several sites today, I obviously had to Google it first, because it meant nothing to me. Just as I am clueless when it comes to vloggers? I did some research: he is a twenty-two-year-old American with over fifteen million subscribers on his YouTube channel and his Instagram account is nearing sixteen million, with the average age of his followers being under eighteen.
Anyway, this vlogger is currently in Japan and wanted to go to the Japanese ‘suicide forest’ for one of his videos – a name the forest has received because a lot of suicides occur there. Logan decided to go there with his friends and film everything as vloggers do, but now he is under fire because with his video ‘We found a dead body in the Japanese Suicide Forest’ he showed exactly what the title describes. He displayed a man who had committed suicide by hanging shortly before.
Sufficient celebs had something to say about Logan and his bizarre YouTube video and posted messages directed at the YouTuber on their Twitter accounts.
Meanwhile, after all the backlash he has received (and rightly so), the video has been taken offline, although it had already garnered over six million views before that happened and Logan has expressed his regret via Twitter.
