Next week it will snow
Feeling like terraces and sun and warmth? Then you better book a ticket to some place far away. Because it's going to snow. Next week already.
At the end of the week, it will be shivering and scoring thick jackets, because the mercury is going to drop significantly to freezing point. Zero degrees, or even colder. And Sunday night there is a chance of snow. Will we finally get that white Christmas this year, which we haven't experienced since 2010? It could very well happen.
There is talk of an official white Christmas if there is a white blanket in De Bilt (where the national weather station is located) on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The good news for fans of that white blanket is that if it snows on Sunday, it will be so cold that it will actually stay. Who knows, maybe until December 25th. It's not that strange for this time of year: last year around this time we had a snowstorm in the Netherlands, remember? With that hysterical code red. Just saying.
So goodbye terraces, hello annoying kids in the neighborhood throwing snowballs, wobbling on the bike through the city through all the snowflakes and scraping car windows and well, cold. But it does look romantic, doesn't it?
