Featuring Gwyneth Paltrow

In the past, Gwyneth was a bit too left-leaning and self-knitted for me. But since that series in Harper’s Bazaar, I’ve changed my mind. With an insanely toned body (which my husband is horrified by –thank goodness– and which makes me rush to the gym), she strolled through a supermarket clad in nothing but swimsuits, trench coats, and heels to the heavens. I know: I previously wrote my irritations about Gwyneth off, but I’m starting to see her more and more as a strong, independent woman whose sense of style I have nothing but admiration for. On the contrary, I want everything. Except for the blazers with ruffles, the 15 denier tights and the flip-flops, that is.

Partyproof

On the red carpet, you always see Gwyneth in a feminine, slim-cut outfit. I would do the same if I spent three hours a day in the downward facing dog position. Despite her love for cut-out dresses (you know, the ones with bites taken out of the sides), shiny sequin fabric, and lace, Gwyneth is not tacky at all. Gwyneth opts for black or pastel colors and always looks amazing without it being safe or boring. A picture of the teacher.

Casual

You can carve Gwyneth out in her casual look. Preferably with jeans that are so fond of her legs that they hug them tightly, skyscraper-high heels, and above that either a casual but oh-so-fashionable sweater, or even better, a slim-cut jacket, possibly styled with a scarf. It just depends on whether it’s a bit cooler in habitat Los Angeles.

Labels

Stella McCartney, Peter Pilotto, Saint Laurent, Ralph & Russo, and of course her own line Goop.
