Queen Letizia of Spain

I had somewhat forgotten about her, our Letizia. But due to the tasty family feud that took place this week (did you miss it? Read here about it from hat to heel), she was once again sharply in my mind. The stunning embodiment of a contemporary fairy tale: Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, or Letizia, queen of Spain. The divorced (oh dear) journalist without noble bloodlines who managed to become the most important woman in Spain. Except for mother-in-law Sofia, at least. You know, the woman of the feud.

Letizia married two years after Máxima and there was talk of the same sensation. Just a girl with rare beauty and style. I watched her wedding live, just like that of Máxima. I remember the excruciatingly long time Filipe had to wait before his fiancée stepped into the church. I even sensed some irritation from the husband, because waiting five minutes in front of the altar in front of the world is painful. Very painful.

Anyway. Of course, we are talking about the clothes. Because when you say Letizia, you say style. And an overdose of the gym and a slight shortage of carbohydrates, that too. But if you are looking for new designers, you should lock yourself in Letizia's walk-in closet, because she has some fine fashion finds. Here we go.

Style

Letizia has a royal style. Tasteful, feminine, never offensive, elegant, slender, striking, fashion-conscious, yet understated. Like Máxima, Letizia does not shy away from experimentation. A dress with cape sleeves, a red one-piece jumpsuit without sleeves (Michelle Obama has serious competition from Letizia's iron arms) and an all-red look, from boots and coat to bag.

Labels

Letizia is aware of the ambassadorial role she has and wears, okay, apart from Carolina Herrera and Hugo Boss, preferably Spanish brands. From Felipe Varela to Juan Duyos via Roberto Taretta, Teresa Helbig to Lorenzo Caprile; all equally beautiful, feminine, and distinctive.

Typical Letizia

You won't quickly see the queen of Spain in an oversized bomber jacket with cropped mom jeans on ugly dad sneakers. Everything is elegant and slender, with a knowing nod to fashion but never, jamais, nunca will you see her make a bold fashion statement. The quote from Yves Saint Laurent ‘Fashion fades, style is eternal’ is framed in her dressing room. Next to the dartboard with the photo of mother-in-law Sofia.
