The 5 craziest shoe trends of the season

This morning I was allowed to join the friends of Koffietijd to talk about the latest shoe trends. A party. Not only because I was able to order for a bizarre amount at Mytheresa.com (a life-threatening exercise, as size 37 seems to do the best on camera and that just happens to be my size), but also because Monti made her TV debut and formed a deep friendship with Flip, Loretta's dog. Anyway, since you were probably in a meeting around ten o'clock (Tuesday remains Tuesday remains Tuesday), I wanted to catch you up.

1. The high boots

And when you say high fashion, then Alessandro Michele from Gucci says it can go higher. Here’s the proof. I think they are amazing. They easily touch the upper part of the thigh and because of the classic Gucci pattern, they are not overly ordinary but still classic. At least, I think so. Thank goodness my high instep couldn't make the turn from shaft to shoe. That saved me another 1200 bucks. But to quote Loretta: you do get a lot of boot for your money. 2. The burgundy slip-on.

Do you remember the Gucci slip-on that made its debut two years ago? With that open back where on a silly fashion day a horde of faux fur was also sticking out? That shoe you thought: never ever and no way, but then suddenly found to be a serious option when you saw someone you admire style-wise walking in them? Under a simple, baggy jeans with a

soft cashmere sweater on top? Well, that one has a younger sister in the form of the more elegant slip-on. Open ankle, open toe. You could call it a luxury flip-flop, but of course we won't. 3. The Croc revisited.

Was the Croc a horror to you? Well, fasten your seatbelts, because it can get even worse. It can only be that creative director Demna Gvasalia is secretly chuckling in a corner about all those types who pay 600 euros for this misery.

4. Metallic.

How convenient, because I have a never-worn pair of silver ankle boots from Tom Ford sitting in my closet. I had to blow three times to get the dust off, but they still work and they can still shine. If you are of the conservative type, you combine them with a worn-out jeans. If the thrill-seeker in you asks for a coming-out, you could go all metallic. I think you have the dress code for the Christmas party nailed down.

5. The sneaker.

It was already there and it stays, but it is either getting bulkier (the b is bulky and brrr in my opinion) or simpler (in love with the simple Isabel Marant sneaker), but they remain and that is pretty good news, right?

By the way, that box from MyTheresa will only be picked up tomorrow, so if you have an intense need to try on and touch, let me know.
