The 5 tips that will make your inner housewife happy

That stain, that smell, that makeup box in pieces. Everyone has those home-and-garden tips that are ‘too good’ to keep secret. Usually, I turn to my dear mother (or rather: the stain queen) when I spot an impossible stain, but by now I've gathered a few tips that make me tackle it myself first. And not without success.
Hopefully, this list brings you as much daily joy as it does me, and if you have an addition that can't be missed for this list; I can't wait to receive it!
Raspberry, berry, or blackberry stains
Especially the parents among you will empathize with me. It's great, this berry season, but the stains that Otis makes are now quite a feat. After having to throw away two beautiful shirts, I cried to my mother for a permanent solution. What turned out: it had been in my fruit bowl all along. Cover the stain with a generous amount of lemon juice and then wash the item in the washing machine. I could have cried tears of joy: all the laundry came out completely clean from the drum.
Broken makeup box
Every woman has experienced this at some point. You've just bought that beautiful makeup palette for a small fortune and you're as happy as a child. But then comes that moment when you want to quickly apply some makeup, the box balances on the edge of your sink and crashes to the floor. I literally stood there crying: half of the powder compartments were broken. Until a week ago, I would have thrown the whole mess away with a bleeding heart, but this tip saves you a lot of new makeup purchases. Carefully pour some alcohol into your broken palette, which softens the powder. Then press the pieces back together so that it becomes a whole, and voilà: the alcohol evaporates and your powder is whole again. This tip almost deserves a Nobel Prize for me.
Cooking smell
We love to go all out when friends come over for dinner, but when I take Otis out of his crib the next morning, I can smell exactly what we cooked the night before... To prevent those intense smells from spreading throughout your house, let a pot of vinegar simmer on the stove while baking or frying. Nice bonus: the pan that the vinegar is cooking in shines like never before afterwards.
White laundry
This is a nice tip for the young mothers among us. All those little white onesies take quite a beating. Diarrhea, spitting sessions, and first bites result in yellowed onesies that you can't get white in the washing machine anymore. Until I got the tip of the century from another mother: lay those white onesies out in the bright sun to dry and they come out snow white from the battle. I tried it with the most intense yellow poop stains and believe me: they literally disappeared like snow in the sun.
Burn marks
Somehow, I never come out from behind the kitchen counter unscathed. Whether I've had a long baking session, finely chopping vegetables, or just slicing some cheese, my fingers are covered in cuts and you can count a lot of burn marks on my hands and arms. I don't have a solution for the cutting part yet (steel gloves? Or even better: a chef at home), but I now immediately smear those burn marks with honey and the burning sensation fades away immediately.
