One of the biggest lessons in interior design came from Erik Kuster. I worked at the magazine Beau Monde, he had a column and flew across all latitudes of the world to decorate homes of pp’s (privileged people). His tip? Don’t be afraid of color on the wall. The argument that you’ll get tired of it at some point doesn’t count. You would never have thought of that white wall: oh look at me having a white wall. Courage, in short.

I started with a small wall, but now there is hardly a white wall to be found in my house. Everything is taupe. When I last dined with my stylish friends Mike and Daan, I got the itch. Their walls were in the most beautiful dark blue. Turns out to be the color of 2018 from Histor. I think I’ll roll up my sleeves this weekend, how about you?
