This was the most exciting day of my life

In case you missed it: recently I overcame my biggest fear ever. Speaking in public. Correction: in front of a cinema full of critical journalists. That was quite, uh, pretty heart-pounding, I can tell you.

The occasion for all this was a press screening (where journalists can preview the first episode of a new series) for ‘The Split’, a new legal drama series from BBC First in which our own Barry Atsma plays a starring role. And yes, he plays a senior partner à la Harvey Specter (including an extremely handsome suit), so he was of course also present at the event I was going to host. Shaking knees; everything. At the end of the day, we also had a Facebook live interview with Barry. As in: live, live, all in one take, so-for-god's-sake-don't-say-nervous-nonsense-from-Kiek. You understand: this was the most exciting day of my life. Be sure to watch along.
