Is Vero really the new Instagram?

Something is going on that we need to talk about. Suddenly, everyone is talking about Vero. Who, what, how? Vero then. The new Instagram, without a complicated algorithm behind it. All those smiling goats and cake-baking videos on Facebook are all very nice, but the real charm is a bit gone. The same goes for Instagram. Where are the photos of the people I really like to follow? Why do I see photos from three days ago popping up in my feed?

And now there is, rapapapa… suddenly a new social media app that takes away all our pain points. Vero literally means ‘truth’ and that is exactly what the app wants to show. You see photos of the here and now. Not through complicated algorithms. Without ads. It’s the place where you can share everything you find cool. Photos, videos, links to articles, but also for example your favorite music and books. This content then ends up as one big collection on your Vero feed. Hmm sounds interesting. So I just installed the app to take a look. Oh help: people are suddenly going to follow me and I have no clue what I'm doing. Okay, I'm going to do some serious fieldwork and see if this is really worth it, and then I'll get back to you, okay?
