A small situational sketch. On the bed lies a suitcase, seven piles of clothes with what I really must take, two toiletry bags, three more bags, five pairs of shoes, and eight books. The cause: I get to go on vacation for two weeks.
To take more with me, I ingeniously divide my belongings into checked luggage and carry-on. Now I always think that twenty kilos of checked baggage is more than enough, but that’s a utopia. Yet every year I find myself tinkering with those eight books. Nine times out of ten they disappear into my partner's backpack. But recently I've been doing everything differently. I'm going on vacation and I'm taking: a Kobo reader. Weighs nothing, you don't have to choose right away what you read. It's extremely genius, because suppose you find parts one and two of Hendrik Groen amazing, then you just download part three via Bol.com. Just remember to charge it before you go to the beach.
