What news: carbohydrates are good for you

You might already know, but if science proves it, then I believe it just a bit faster. Carbohydrates are good for you, you should actually eat them. Our neighbors from FavorFlav will explain to you why.

Do you leave plates of pasta and sandwiches thinking that this is better for your body? Don't do that anymore! Recent research shows that you age with carbohydrates.

American researchers followed 15,000 participants over a period of 25 years and what did they find? People who eat an average amount of carbohydrates have a higher life expectancy than those who eat very few or very many carbohydrates. This clearly shows how true the motto ‘everything in moderation’ is.

How many carbohydrates should you eat then? If you get about half of your calories from carbohydrates, you're doing well. At the age of 50, those people have a life expectancy of 83, compared to 82 for those who eat a lot of carbohydrates and 79 for those with a low carbohydrate intake. That's a difference of four years with a diet where you eat few carbohydrates. Four years full of pasta, bread, and fried potatoes.

Extra helpings

Next time you know what to do: serve yourself some extra rice and scrape the bottom of the macaroni from the pot, because your life will be a lot longer and also much tastier.
