What you saw at the Super Bowl

Who ever typed into Google: ‘what is the Super Bowl?’ Well, bare it all here, I know I've done it once, so here I explain it again to the unsuspecting passerby. The Super Bowl is the final of the National Football League (NFL), where American football players compete for the title. It is not a concert by Madonna or Beyoncé or whoever, serious sports are played there. Now that we've covered that, we can move on to the most important part of the game: the halftime show by Justin Timberlake.

Justin released, very cleverly timed, on Friday his new single. All the girls in their late twenties to early thirties were of course ecstatic. By the way, this is the third time the singer has taken the stage during the halftime of the Super Bowl, and that has never happened before. In 2004, he and Janet Jackson caused a nipplegate, for which they had to cough up 550,000 euros in fines. But Justin was allowed again. In his show, he paid tribute to Prince, who passed away in 2016 and was from Minneapolis where the Super Bowl was played. Only praise for Justin's choreography, but not everyone was pleased with his singing. It was the technique, they say.

Pink pulled herself up from her flu-ridden bed at the start of the game to perform the national anthem, but got a heap of trouble when she spat something out just before stepping onto the stage. Chewing gum, say spectators. A throat lozenge, says Pink. And that last one seems quite logical to us, benefit of the doubt then.
