Why cocktails on Monday are an excellent idea
We'll take that one with whisky
We can pretend to be weekend drinkers here, but on Mon-Tue-Wed-Thu they taste pretty good too. A refreshing gin or a good cocktail from Monkey Shoulder on a sultry Thursday, you just want that, right? I have a tip for all cocktail lovers in the country: the Perfect Serve Barshow. Go see (and taste) that.
It's exactly as it sounds by the way: the place where the greats from the world of drinks serve you perfection. In a glass, with some embellishment here and there and the right amount of Monkey Shoulder, after which the ice is carefully positioned. And for those who have never tasted a cocktail with Monkey Shoulder: Go. Do. That. There was a party at our editorial office (which I can't tell you anything about, as it falls under confidentiality) and there I had the most delicious Monkeys ever. One a bit sweet, the other with a hint of bitterness and then a few more.
So Monday and Tuesday, May 28 and 29. The Westergasfabriek is where you can see, taste, and for the eager learners among us, learn from the masters of cocktails on 700 gigantic square meters with drinks. I'm bringing it with some drama, because it deserves it. 80 drink brands, 3000 bartenders and cocktail connoisseurs sounds like: heaven. And stop by Monkey Shoulder to taste the cocktail from our secret party and the whisky brand is launching something very special for behind the bar. Well, go ahead, I'll already reveal one recipe for you to make at home. But promise me you'll then go to the Perfect Serve Barshow right?
Here's how to make a Show Me The Monkey
- 50 ml Monkey Shoulder
- 25 ml Drambuie
- 100 ml cloudy apple juice
- Fresh mint and a slice of green apple (it has to stay healthy)
How do you make it?
Very simple. Fill a large glass with ice and add all the ingredients. Stir and garnish, cheers.
