Why we all secretly have a crush on André Hazes

If I were to write a positive plea about someone, it would definitely be about Dreetje Hazes. The sweetest, naughtiest man in our country. And one of the sexiest men as well.

Even though I am almost five years older. Who cares.

Because Hazes is just so much fun. Not just in terms of looks. No, really not. Here at the editorial office, we are unanimously agreed: he is simply a smooth, funny guy with a dose of humor that makes you feel good and a chat that is nice and straightforward. Honest, enthusiastic, and cheeky.

And so it is time. Time for a bit of love from us to Dré. This is an ode to our favorite folk singer. Many thanks to his biggest fan Annick.

Here they come. What we find delicious about Dré a million thousand times:

• His Amsterdam accent. Even though he lived closer to Rotterdam for a long time.
• He is incredibly cheerful. Sorry, but you can say a lot about him, but you can NEVER say that he is boring. Or grumpy. Dré is always cheerful, cracking jokes and having fun. And getting up to mischief.
• That brings us to the next point: he is really someone who gets everything out of life. Not many people can match him in that. Of course, sometimes he also falls flat on his face. Now his relationship with Monique has just ended, and that is really tough for him, but he does what he feels like doing. He has a bit of disregard (to put it nicely) for everything and everyone. He chooses for himself.
• On the other hand: he takes his career seriously and works incredibly hard. Of course, all those shows and performances seem like nothing but fun and parties, but it is also a tough world. One in which he does his best and keeps himself afloat. Hats off.
• Certainly noteworthy: his arms.
• He has such a treasure of a son. Mini Dré is also adorable. And what a fun dad Dré is for his little boy, who he simply calls ‘pikkie’ on Instagram. We can appreciate that.
• His cheeky face. Just always saying whether you like something or not, whether it's on national television or not.
• His hair: short or long, it doesn't matter. Especially in combination with his genuine smile.
• He is a friend to everyone: I think almost all celebrities adore him and his positive vibe. And that says something.

In other words, to avoid a longer story: we just really really want to have a beer with the best man. Because it seems so cozy to us. And okay, if we can then have his arms around us for ten seconds, then we have nothing else to talk about.
