Why whiskey makes you a better person

Whiskey and I go way back. It was in the Zeeland town of Vlissingen, where there was a gala. Among the fish in Het Arsenaal, really quite a fun idea. There was a boy I found interesting and he drank whiskey. So, being cool as I was (and a bit too heavily made up), I did that too, but my heavens: it was breathtaking. Disgusting.

Since that day, I learned. Rule number one: don't drink whiskey at student parties, that's nonsense. Also good to remember: don't just grab a bottle from the shelf, but look for something that suits your taste. And thirdly: take your time, whiskey is not something you gulp down but drink in peace. If the desire is there to drink whiskey, but the skill is still a bit lacking, then I would like to recommend something to you.

Southern Comfort, they make whiskey comfortable in the form of a whiskey liqueur and that's exactly what you want or actually exactly what I want. The taste is not too sharp, because after a detour Southern Comfort is back to the old-fashioned recipe of the inventor-aka-bartender M.W. Heron. Who came up with the formula around the corner from Bourbon Street in the heart of New Orleans, the birthplace of US whiskeys.

That's how it tastes exactly, by the way. It's bold, but sweet, you drink it on the rocks of course and if you want to spice it up a bit (I think that's nice), then you add a wedge of lime. I say wine off the table, just like the white beer, this summer we women are drinking whiskey. God, how cool is that?! You just need the vibe of New Orleans, where the music flows like whiskey. Man, if only I had a glass of that, there with that handsome guy in that aquarium.
