Why you want to see A Star is Born this weekend

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper

Bradley Cooper singing. I mean: do we really need to say more? Bradley Cooper who stars in and directed the film.

And then an incredible Lady Gaga on the big screen. Go see ‘A Star Is Born’ this weekend. A musical masterpiece, as it is called. Because what’s so fun? No matter how famous Lady Gaga is, without makeup and all the fuss, you don’t recognize her at first. She really comes across as that insecure waitress. She is discovered by Bradley, who believes in her singing talent. He is an older country singer who drinks a lot and is a bit lost. He helps her to the top. One hit after another, a romantic story, a handsome actor. All worth a cinema ticket that is worth every euro.

Here are some nice facts about this blockbuster in a row:

  • The first version of this story was already filmed in 1937 and this is the third version
  • In an earlier version, Barbra Streisand played the role of Lady Gaga
  • It is the first film ever directed by Bradley
  • Some scenes from the film were already shot at Coachella in 2017
  • Dog Alley in the film is actually Bradley's dog
  • Actually, Beyoncé was approached earlier to play the lead role, but she didn’t want to
  • If it hadn’t been Lady Gaga, then Jennifer Lopez and Shakira were the contenders for the big role

  • The last song in the film that Lady Gaga sings, ‘I’ll never love again’, she sang especially for her deceased best friend
