ZiGi is no more...

Sad news this Wednesday morning. Dutch glory Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are no more. After a relationship of over two years, the two have jointly decided to put an end to their love. This was confirmed by the two yesterday independently on social media, after various rumors circulated that the well-known top model was living life as a single again. The first sign of the end of the relationship came when the British media discovered that Zayn no longer followed Gigi Hadid and her family (including sister Bella) on Instagram, but Gigi still followed Zayn. According to the media, the two decided to part ways due to busy work schedules that led to a considerable amount of stress for the two lovebirds.

The two themselves threw the news into the worldwide web. “Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving, and nice relationship and I have immense respect and admiration for Gigi as a woman and as a friend,” Zayne reports on his own Instagram account. And on Twitter: “She has such an incredible soul. I am grateful to all our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this moment. We would have loved to share this news with you ourselves as the first.”

 
Gigi also sends a message into the world via Twitter, making it clear that the two harbor no bad feelings for each other. “I am forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Zayn and I have shared. I wish him nothing but the best and will continue to support him as a friend for whom I feel immense respect and love. As for the future, what must be, will be.”
 

Gigi and Zayn, who were quickly dubbed ZiGi, fell for each other in November 2015 at a party in New York. This was just a few months after Zayn had ended his engagement with singer Perrie Edwards. A few months ago, the two still celebrated their anniversary on social media and the well-known Dutch top model referred to her Zayn as ‘her favorite person’, and they recently graced the cover of American Vogue and were Gigi seen in the clip of Zayn’s big hit Pillowtalk. Their last Instagram post together was on January 12, when Gigi posted a tribute to her boyfriend in honor of his birthday. And yes, that did raise some eyebrows for us....

Gigi, maybe it’s time for a visit to us Amsterdam? A handsome, tall Dutch specimen would suit you quite well... And your grandma would be happy with it too. I know for sure.
