3x why people who arrive late are the best

We have a friend who is always late. And usually also unreachable. Indeed, incredibly annoying. But as soon as he peeks his curly head around the corner, you forgive him everything. Immediately. My love recently had a great analysis. What makes our friend so annoying is immediately his best quality. He gets so caught up in the moment that he forgets everything else on the agenda. He also treated us to a few extra hours of fun while he actually had this and that to do.
And now our assumption has also been scientifically proven. The University of Washington found in a study that a certain group of people could really lose track of time while there was still a clock and a sharp schedule present. Just like you can forget the time when you want to “quickly” check your Instagram, they lose themselves in everything. All day long.
Is there really nothing to be done?
Well, there is, because we might forgive our late-coming friend easily, but if it were an employee, I would find it a lot less funny. So here are some small tips.
1. Buy a time timer
Or a children's clock. With it, you can convert the time you want to spend on something into a red area. That area gets smaller and smaller so you can really see visually how much time you have left. That often works better than the more abstract clock.
2. Protect yourself
If you need to be somewhere at 08:30, then put 08:15 in your calendar. This way, you naturally give yourself a quarter of an hour of leeway. It's also not a bad idea to set your watch a few minutes ahead.
3. Put yourself in the other person's shoes
You don't mean any harm, of course, but just imagine how you would feel if you always had to wait for someone. In rain, cold, weather, or wind. Not nice. Get your act together and let yourself fully enjoy the moment when you can because we do find that very nice.
