5 bucket list things you absolutely want to do when you're in Vegas

Kiki in las vegas, in a helicopter, nightlife and for the las vegas sign

My god. If you had told me that I participated in some kind of science fiction experiment and ended up in one big virtual reality experience, I would have believed it too. You see: I was in Vegas for 72 hours, but if you skip the sleeping part, you can practically live as if you've been there for a week. Now that I'm back home, with jet lag eyes, crawling back behind the laptop, I finally have time to look back. What a rollercoaster.

As I said on Insta: Las Vegas is really a kind of Disneyland for adults. An epic dream from which you wake up and suddenly think: what the heck just happened? Why do I have such a headache? Who let that giraffe in? Where is Mister Chow? (Toodaloo, motherfokaaaaa.) How on earth did you get that tattoo? Elvis? Honey, I lost my shoe. That red one. Do you know what happened last night? Call me! Well. This trip was pretty much like that. Naming highlights becomes difficult when you've ended up in one big climax. But one advantage: the points on the bucket list have never followed each other at such a rapid pace. And come on, everyone wants to experience Vegas at least once in their life, right? Are you also itching to go that way? Rightly so. Time for a Viva Las Vegas mini-guide. This is what you want to do in The Capital of Entertainment.

Of course, you go in a helicopter (over the Grand Canyon)

GRAND CANYON

For a once in a lifetime feeling, I urge you to book a helicopter tour somewhere. If you're short on time in Vegas and still want to catch the Grand Canyon, just google Sundance Helicopters. They fly to the canyon in 45 minutes, where you have a toast moment with bubbles including a mini picnic (and time for photos), and then you fly back. On a slightly smaller budget? Flying over The Strip at night with all those thousands of lights and neon signs is also a bizarrely cool experience. Be sure to check out Maverick Helicopters.

HELICOPTER FLIGHT

Of course, you rent a limousine and have someone chauffeur you everywhere

LIMOUSINE RIDE

If we travel, we do it in style, right? New York has the yellow cab, Vegas has the limousines that make your inner high school prom queen pop up spontaneously. And the bizarre thing is: it's not even that expensive. Definitely not if you get in the car with six (or a maximum of eight) people. Feel like a rockstar and pop the champagne, mami!

Of course, you catch a big show

HANS KLOK

I've never posted so many ridiculous Insta Stories as the night we went to Céline Dion's concert. The Queen. What a voice. Céline has unfortunately left Vegas, but no worries: there's still plenty to experience. How about the man of Vegas? Hans Klok is starting a new show soon, and otherwise, there's still Lady Gaga, J.Lo, Gwen Stefani, Diana Ross, or 13 different Cirque du Soleil shows. Whatever you do: you don't want to miss the magic and experience of a show in Vegas.

CELINE DION

Of course, you pose with your face in front of the Las Vegas sign

LAS VEGAS SIGN
Not necessarily an activity that takes up much time (UNLESS YOU GO STAND IN LINE, BY THE WAY!). Okay wait, first things first. Everyone obviously wants a picture at the famous sign. I mean: you don't leave Paris the first time without a photo of the Eiffel, right? Exactly. So there's always a line that an average Goliath in Walibi would be jealous of. But then I have the life hack of the day for you: take a photo from the side. If you stand in a certain way, you won't see the other people posing. You'll see immediately when you walk up what I mean. Good luck!

And of course, you go discover the nightlife at the Strip

NIGHTLIFE
Small side note: Vegas is so much more than just ‘the gambling city’. The amazing restaurants, cocktail bars, museums, shows, pool parties, luxury shopping: it's so much more. But of course, you're going to have a night of ‘hangovering’. Cocktails, gambling, partying, and rock ’n roll, baby. What happens in Vegas... Well, you feel it. The entertainment industry is running at full speed. Nowhere does the atmosphere on the street feel so magical.

Well, I think it's time to come up with a new bucket list, because there are quite a few lines through it by now. Vegas, you were a party.

P.S.: I MUST go back someday, because I didn't manage to go to a wedding chapel to marry Elvis due to lack of time. Grrrrrr.

P.P.S.: KLM now flies every Thursday and Sunday with the Dreamliner to Vegas. And new is: you no longer have to transfer; it's a direct flight. You'll be standing on American soil ten and a half hours later. I say go for it.

P.P.P.S.: Ticket booked? Lucky you. Good to know: it's freaking hot in Nevada (because desert), so make sure to bring light clothing. But at the same time, Vegas is called ”the city of air conditioning‘ because of the heat, so still take something like a cardigan or scarf with you.

Oh, and keep an eye on the site tomorrow if you want to know where to eat/sleep/rave/repeat in Vegas. Ciao!
