Are you team red or white wine?

Women at the table outside enjoy drinking red wine, white wine, rosé

Another fun little study, this time commissioned by Coravin, a company that sells and develops various tools that allow you to drink wine by the glass. So bottle vacuum equipment, nice corks, and so on. They surveyed 2000 wine drinkers, half of whom were white wine drinkers and half red wine drinkers. Who are you? I recognized myself quite a bit in team white.

1. Red wine drinkers spend more

On average three dollars more per bottle. I can imagine that, because white wine drinkers are a bit more about the company slurp and slobber, red wine drinkers more about the sisters gurgle and enjoy. What you drink has to be top-notch, so you spend more money on it.

2. Red wine drinkers are wine snobs

They believe they know more about wine, and it turns out… they do.

3. Red wine drinkers are early birds

Because they only drink one glass, with attention and patience. In front of that fireplace. With that book. Pompiedom. We white wine drinkers are night owls, joejoe.

4. White wine drinkers are cat people

And red wine drinkers are dog people. This does not apply to me and many of my friends, but okay.

5. Red wine drinkers are introverted

And that makes us (I’m assuming for convenience that you are also team white) extroverted. Joejoe II.

6. Red wine drinkers are adventurous and organized

Yes, because they neatly close that newspaper after those two glasses and then go to bed on time. Very curious what character traits we white wine drinkers get thrown at us. Curious (ah, okay), sarcastic (sarcastic?) and perfectionistic. Well, let’s go.

Anyway: cheers. Regardless of the color of your glass.
