An unforgettable evening full of fantastic outfits

When Jon and I organize something, it can never just be a small party. Now, of course, it's great to dream big, but sometimes it would help a lot if we settled for a house party with a casual glass of wine and some toast with cheese from the AH. In the end, we decided to celebrate our birthdays together in the Great Room of the beautiful W Hotel, with a delicious Veuve Clicquot champagne bar (my favorite) and an amazing band called ‘The Funk Disciples’. Oh yes, as if that wasn't enough, we thought it would be fun to give the evening a theme and have everyone come dressed as movie stars. The result: an unforgettable evening full of fantastic outfits, lots of fun, and a stiff neck from dancing the day after. We’ll hold on to ‘dream big’ for now.

I had known for a while that H&M does not collaborate with just any designers, but the collaborations for kids' clothing are completely new to me. When I heard that this French print designer has designed for Gucci Baby among others, my attention was immediately caught. Nathalie Lété has designed a beautiful kids' spring campaign that will be available at H&M starting March 7. I have already scored this lovely set for Otis.

For a week now, Otis has a new catchphrase: ‘yes!’ I almost dare not say it out loud, because then tomorrow the ‘no’ phase will undoubtedly kick in, but until then, I am enjoying it to the fullest. Even when I ask if he wants to go to bed nicely, I get an extremely sweet ‘yes’ thrown back at me. Yep, there you go: I pick him up from daycare yesterday, and I hear that he answers ‘no no no’ to everything (also immediately three times in a row...). Praying that he doesn't bring that phase home just yet.
I inherited my weakness for watches from my father: no vacation went by without us scouring all the shop windows and markets in search of that perfect piece. Most of the time, he still came home empty-handed, and I had the impression that it was more about the activity than actually collecting a collection. I didn't inherit that last part, because I now own a few beautiful watches. My latest acquisition is a beauty from Longines, and I can't wait to pass it on to my new generation someday. If you happen to be that new generation and have inherited a vintage Longines, then this is definitely something for you: a search has been initiated for the oldest Longines watch in the Netherlands. The brand goes back 187 years, so there's a good chance that a very old one can be found. If you have such a beautiful heirloom in your hands or know that someone in the family owns one, you could win a fully arranged trip for two to the Longines factory in Switzerland. Too bad my father only kept it to watching... (registration can be done via this link t/m June 1, 2019)
