Chanel in de sneeuw
The Grand Palais was transformed into a winter village surrounded by white snow-capped mountains, chalets, crackling snow underfoot, and Chanel skis that make you spontaneously team to ski become. The ‘The beat goes on’ invite is illustrated by emperor Karl who deeply touches the fashion crowd even before the show. Models walk one by one in Karl’s latest creations out of the Charlet Gardenia to gather for one minute of silence. Karl is intensely missed and that creates goosebumps and tears among others Kirsten Stewart, Naomi Campbell, and Claudia Schiffer all over the snowy place.

The fall/winter 2019/2020 show was opened by Cara Delevingne in a pied de poule + chevron + checked grid print in the mix. Penélope Cruz walks down the runway in a dream of a look that the fashion crowd has now massively put on their winter wishlist. Coarsely crocheted turtlenecks, funny ski prints, woolly hiker boots, wide trousers, red and pink as favorite pop colors, and woolen hats are the must-haves for next year. I say: skip that summer, we want snow.
