Christmas fatigue: yes, it exists

The December parody. It starts off full of good cheer. Lights, coziness, Christmas shopping, scented candles, work parties. YES, holiday season is on! After a week, the first sigh begins. By mid-December, people start to feel a bit tired. By Christmas, they almost don't want to anymore. After the New Year, they promise themselves to never EVER eat again. Acties.nl surveyed over a thousand Dutch people and what turns out? Half of them are not looking forward to a Christmas dinner at all. They see it as an obligation and would ‘if possible’ just prefer to keep working. People in their forties are the most skeptical about Christmas. Not only does 48 percent of them get annoyed by all the ‘forced Christmas joy’, but as much as 60 percent see the annual Christmas celebration as an obligation. Oh and, peace on earth at Christmas? Not at all. 17 percent of respondents say they have had arguments with family or friends during a Christmas celebration. It's not easy, is it, being on each other's toes for a few days? HAHA, cozy, right? Christmas. Love it.
