All singles gather: this series is one you want to watch at Christmas

You heard me talk before about being single, about the Christmas and holiday season and about a combination of the two. Apparently, it occupies my mind quite a bit and I hoped it would provide some recognition. Well, luckily it absolutely did (thanks for that), so if you can completely relate to this, then I have a series that you definitely want to see. And how nice: it's already on Netflix, so you don't have to wait anymore.
One downside, or well, potential downside: the series is in Norwegian. I wasn't bothered by the different language at all and the setting makes up for everything. I can imagine that a Christmas hater (that is: myself) suddenly gets transformed into the biggest fan when you see those Norwegian villages and streets.
Thirty-something Johanna plays the lead role in the series, which is called Hjem til Jul (Google tells me this translates to ‘home for Christmas’), and she has been plagued for years by the pressure from her family to settle down, especially during the holidays. So, on December 1st, she spontaneously claims that she has a boyfriend (not true) and now it's expected that she brings him to the Christmas dinner. Yes, you might already know this concept from many romcoms, but in Hjem til Jul, it's presented in a refreshing way.
What follows is a quest through dating apps, at work, on the street, wherever. Sure, there's some romance in it, but it's mainly a funny comedy series with relatable moments. Until the very end, it's unclear who will actually go to the Christmas dinner. Well, it’s also exciting whether Johanna can even make it to the Christmas dinner. She works in a hospital and when settled people want time off for in-laws or kids at Christmas, that's a good excuse. A single… They can just work during the holidays, right?
Season 1 is now online (is there going to be a season 2 around Christmas next year?) and you can get through it quite quickly. Six episodes of about half an hour each. Child's play.
