The animals, the animals: The first images of Orange is the New Black final season are here

The day that has of course long been marked in our calendar, the release date of the very, very, very last (crying) season of Orange is the New Black on July 26. The final season is just around the corner and that brings mixed feelings. Because of course we will miss Piper, Crazy Eye, Alex, Nicky, Taystee, and even Caputo and we would rather start the new season of OITNB yesterday than today. But on the other hand, the start of season seven also means the freaking final.

To get used to the idea today, Netflix has just dropped the trailer. In the last season, the Litchfield Girls come to the conclusion that prison has changed them forever. Piper struggles with life outside the bars, Cindy's friendship with Taystee is anything but okay, Gloria and her kitchen team have an even bigger problem, and drugs and dreams still play a big role.

Is next month really the beginning of the end? Maybe not. There is talk of a possible spin-off. Kevin Beggs, director of Lionsgate TV Group, has the following to say about this: ‘We are stopping at a high point. We are already in talks and when the time comes, we will discuss a possible continuation further.’ Okeeee, let that new season come. I suddenly feel completely ready for it.
