Earth by Lil Dicky is the YouTube hit of the moment

Lil Dicky has managed to get about thirty artists to participate for free. Besides The Biebs and Snoop Dogg, Lion, or whatever he calls himself these days, who else? Well, seriously not the least. Ariana Grande, Hailee Steinfeld, Shawn Mendes, Adam Levine, Sia, Halsey, Charlie Puth, Miley Cyrus, Kevin Hart, Lil Jon, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, the Backstreet Boys and of course mister DiCaprio himself. If you wanted to hear him sing: that's a shame, that's not in there. But he does do the closing text.

‘Back in the day’ we had songs like We Are The World, a bit sappy, but also for a good cause and full of stars from back then. Earth is also recorded for a good cause, in case you didn't know, and what a cause it is. All proceeds go to The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, which fights for the well-being of the earth. I personally find that a very beautiful cause, especially since Our Planet has made it very clear to me that we should be a bit kinder to this globe well. So donate and then have one less drink this weekend.

And Earth is also a lot less sappy than the aforementioned charity song. I saw it not long ago and thought for the first ten seconds that I was watching some vague soundtrack song from Madagascar or something. It grabbed my attention right away, but I really didn't understand a thing. And huh, why does that baboon sound like Justin Bieber? What are those weed trees that exactly talk like Snoop Dogg? Confusion all around. What the hell am I watching?

Well, a simple Google search led me to Lil Dicky. And goddamn... I can't get that song out of my head. That twisted Lil Dicky, because it was exactly the same with Freaky Friday too. So now I'm going into the weekend dancing like a Justin Bieber-singing baboon, just to give you a mental image of my day.

A detail that I found very funny is that Kevin Hart does the voice of Kanye West. Ye didn't want to participate. People, if only we loved the earth as much as Kanye loves Kanye. ‘Cause nobody loves Kanye more than Kanye.
