Hanging without drilling

may the one who hangs a list on the wall with tesa stickers

I love photos and lists and, no matter how emancipated I am, I don't just grab a drill to quickly make a few holes in the wall. But calling someone for that feels a bit much, and my own husband is not in the wrong body but was born in the wrong country because he can still mumble ‘domani, domani’ when I wave a painting that begs for a spot on the wall.

In the meantime, we have been living in our house for a messy eight years and three-quarters of the lists I want to hang are on the floor. Every month we find an excuse not to hang them up. The drill is still in our beach house, the drill is lent out, that wall can't hold it and is going to crumble, a hole is going to appear in the wall, and so on. Just when I was starting to accept it, light came into my life and hope in anxious days: tesa.

Now you might be thinking: tesa, tesa, where have I heard that name before? Well, let me tell you. In the hardware store in the tape section. And from now on, you will hear tesa much more often. What am I saying, it will become a staple in your life. tesa has sticky nails. Plákspijkers. No drill, no hole in the wall, just a sturdy piece of double-sided tape that can easily lift one to two kilos.

Life has never been this easy. And my house has never been this cozy. With warm regards to the drill, you can stay comfortably under your dust blanket.
