Hell to the yes: the first Dutch Netflix Original is in the making

Move over foreign blockbusters, Amsterdam is warming up. Oh yes: the filming of the brand new Netflix Original ‘Ares’ has started in our capital. And I tell you: you want to check this out.

So, what can we expect? In the eight-part psychological horror series, you follow the lives of best friends Rosa and Jacob. The two are invited by a kind of secret student association and quickly immerse themselves in a world full of wealth and power. You understand: of course, this is going to go wrong in no time. Rosa and Jacob have to pay a ‘terrible’ price to belong to the Amsterdam elite. ‘Welcome to Ares. Rule the World,’ is the slogan of the upper-class club. Hmmm. This could get exciting.

When exactly the series will be available to binge on Netflix has not yet been announced, but we do know that Jade Olieberg (I know who you are, Penoza) is in it, along with Tobias Kersloot (Klem), Lisa Smit (Dokter Deen), Robin Boissevain (Flikken Maastricht and Moordvrouw), Frieda Barnhard (Judas) and Golden Calf winner Rifka Lodeizen. Oh and, Netflix? Please. Don't. Make. It. Too. Scary.
