“I zoomed down at 250 kilometers per hour”

All mommies & mommies-to-be pay attention: mark a big cross in your calendar for next weekend, because then the best mommy fair in the Netherlands is taking place. At least that's what I think, because I wanted to shop at every stand: at the ‘We Are Pregnant’ fair, there are only cool brands from mainly small entrepreneurs, so you will really discover new ‘treasures’. And this year they are joining forces with the LINDA. Foundation: a beautiful non-profit organization that is committed to families in the Netherlands living below the poverty line. So quickly buy a ticket and not only treat yourself to a cool event, but also support a good cause: a win-win situation.
We Are Pregnant fair, March 22 to 24 @Werkspoorkathedraal in Utrecht.
If you have been following my Stories a bit over the past week, then hopefully you have learned a wise lesson. Let me update you: yours truly went, as a good mother should, with her son to one of those playlands where all the kids go at full speed the moment they walk in. However, the zest for life is sucked out of all the parents minute by minute. Now I am still a little child myself, so I secretly went full speed too and ran even faster than Otis to the highest slide, only to find out at the top that I was wearing leather pants, which is of course the dumbest choice ever for a slide. So mom thought she was being clever and decided to sit on her wool sweater for the second attempt. Here lies the wise lesson: never.do.this.or.at.least.not.again. Because what turned out: such a wool sweater gives you such a tremendous speed that I was not exaggerating when I say I thundered down at 250 kilometers per hour with Otis on my lap and we came off the slide twice. In hindsight: for the hilarious video this produced, I would gladly make that ‘mistake‘ again...

It has already been 60 years since Barbie first appeared on the scene and has since gathered millions of fans around the world. So it's not so strange that this icon is being used to inspire girls and women all over the world: don't impose limitations on yourself and dare to keep dreaming. Especially for Barbie's anniversary, a book has been released in which 60 female role models, each with a different profession, share their success stories and hopefully inspire others to let ‘the sky be the limit’. Go Barbie!

The moments when I can just relax on the couch with a face mask on while watching Netflix are quite limited... But especially with that sleep deprivation (that little man has been waking up every morning at half past five since January, yay...) my skin could use a boost now and then. Fortunately, this Starskin VIP mask sticks so well that I can clean up, do laundry, and cook at the same time. Long live multitasking!
