If you have no idea what to throw on the barbecue tonight

It's one of those luxury problems, but it still gives you something to think about this week. Due to the heat, you've probably sat around the barbecue with family and friends three times already. The burgers were tasty, the satay was fine, but it could be just a little different. FavorFlavs Tamye will save us, because that is just possible, just read along.
Avocado
Mashed, in the oven, stuffed, as ice cream... You can get as crazy with avocado as you want, but we want it. It is therefore obvious to try avocado on the barbecue as well. Warm avocado, yes or no? At the editorial office, we haven't quite figured it out yet, but I was a fan from the very first moment. Cut it in half. Not like a kiwi (no unnecessary side note, I know people who do this), but the other way around, lengthwise. Remove the pit and brush the flesh with a little (olive) oil. Place the avocado cut side down on the grill and grill for about five minutes.
Toast
For the early birds among us or for those who barbecue all day long: try a toast on the bbq. And since we're going to do something exciting: maybe a toast with pastrami? Use some sturdier bread, spread your toast well with butter or a little oil and throw it on the barbecue. So delicious, you'll want your toast like this all year round. Winter barbecue, anyone?
Brie
Cheese is (usually) not quickly on the menu at a barbecue. But cheese lovers, pay attention, your time has come. Brie on the barbecue makes for an ideal dip (and a good starter for your hangry guests). Put the brie in a small pan and place it on the barbecue. On the outside, it will be nice and crispy with a grill mark and on the inside, well melted. Dip some baguette in the pan or take it out and grab a spoon. Because hey, it’s not that often that we have barbecue weather in this little country.
Watermelon
When I arrive at a barbecue party, the first thing I look for is watermelon. #Fitgirl? Not exactly, but it’s just so damn good. And what turns out? You can also throw it on the barbecue. This can be done in two ways. The simple way: throw some spices on it (coriander, honey) and grill the slices (or skewers) briefly on the barbecue. Or go all the way and season the piece of fruit like real meat and voilà: your own veggie(n) steaks.
Cocktails
No, we certainly don't mean that you should throw your gin and tonic on the barbecue (really don’t do that, what a waste). But if you toss the fruit or herbs that go into your cocktail on the bbq, you’re happily not playing with fire. For example, if you’re making a mojito, you can grill your lime slices for a very brief moment for a smoky twist. Mm!
Donuts
Just as a dessert: ready-made donuts. But then from the barbecue, so technically homemade. And especially very tasty. Do this only with sugared donuts. (Extremely) decadent donuts mainly create extreme mess. Do not grill them longer than 30 seconds and keep a close eye on them, as they burn quickly. End result? Warm caramelized donuts with a smoky aftertaste.
S’mores Banana Boats
This one is also new to me, but I’ve already checked the weather report to see when I’m going to try it out. This dessert is quick to make, but you’ll be drooling over it for months. The S’mores Banana Boat is a banana cut in half with marshmallows, chocolate, and cookies (or breakfast cereals). You can make it over the campfire, but a barbecue is also ideal for it. Wrap your boat in aluminum foil, roast it, and unpack! Thank me later.
