if your child doesn't sleep

Now it seems that everything on Instagram is always more beautiful than reality, but my photos from Ibiza are actually completely true to nature. We were away for four days, but it felt like over a week. Otis has really only been sweet, all the places we visited were beautiful and thanks to the nice weather I could finally show off my new summer outfits. Now I also enjoy getting tips from friends. tips about cool places, but to avoid having to message everyone the same thing: check out the app Urban Journalist, which allows you to keep super handy lists of tips per location and even create a wishlist of places you haven't gotten to yet. I also get amazing lists from other users.

Now I really can't complain about our household: Jon is blessed with a healthy tidying obsession, which means he loves to vacuum, mop, and load and unload the dishwasher. And when he saw me come home with this device last week, I was sure he would never give up vacuuming again. This wireless Dyson measures how much suction power you need for different surfaces, has a meter showing how much battery you have left, and looks super futuristic. If there were a kids' version, Otis would clean the house all day long. Never thought we would ever argue about who gets to vacuum today.

Shared sorrow is half sorrow, they always say. I also felt very supported when I posted the question yesterday if anyone has tips for some extra energy now that Otis is happily up to mischief at night, but the fatigue is not halved by it. I received a whole list of tips, some of which were a bit more labor-intensive than others (I'll skip the tip for a vitamin B12 shot in your butt), but I will definitely try a few, like extra vitamins, a short meditation session in the morning, and for Otis a special clock that indicates when it's night (with a depicted moon) and when the day begins (with a depicted sun). I will of course keep you updated if I find the ultimate tip.

Oh oh, just a few more days and then our annual Disney trip with Marly will start. I think we are looking forward to it the most, although Marly's oldest is now four years old and has been talking about nothing else for weeks. I'm curious if Otis will find the attractions scarier now that he will experience them more consciously. Fortunately, there are plenty of cool shows that are specially made for the little ones, so it will be a bit more sitting still and a bit less roller coasters. If you really have nothing to do with Mickey (which I find quite unimaginable), then I would suggest not checking my Instagram next week...
