In these 6 cities you can best celebrate Christmas (also in November)

I receive a photo from my mother, it's my parents' babysitting day. I see: Bodi and Daaf with Christmas hats on. It's mid-November, for clarity.

Then I see my children looking in disbelief at a skating polar bear. Then I see them sitting in front of a wall where 931 Christmas ornaments are hanging and glittering. Then I see them sucking on a Christmas wreath – especially for babies, my mother promises. Oh yes, you're never too young to celebrate Christmas, right? Even if it’s still about six weeks away. Just do it.

Now I have gone on a quest to find out where I can best take my boys when I want to get into the holly jolly Christmas spirit. I put on Mariah and hop, book that trip. Because you can only go all out with glitter, gold, wreaths, trees, garlands, ornaments, reindeer, and bows once a year, right? Oh yes, and glühwein, let's not forget that. I toast to 2020 in advance, I'm ready for it. And Bodi and Daaf too.

New York
No city breathes more Christmas than New York, New York. You must have been to Rockefeller Plaza at least once this time of year. There’s no doubt, no question, that’s an order.

2. London
A good runner-up to his big sister across the ocean (New York is a woman, London a man, that sounds very logical to me, right?). And nice and close to home. Just a three-quarter hour flight and you're in a paradise of decorations and lights and fairy-tale places.

3. Copenhagen
You might not think of it right away, but everything fits in this city. It's chic, festive. Every corner of the street bubbles with champagne, so to speak.

4. Paris
Those French can do it too. A bit of coziness here, a bit of hip Paris there, it all works in that city. And honestly: that romantic atmosphere you find here gives it just that little extra around Christmas time. A guaranteed romantic weekend away.

5. Prague

Cheaper than all the previous cities and getting more fun by the day. And you can celebrate Christmas well there, because an affordable glühwein tastes so much better, right?

6. Vienna
Also a city where you won't immediately start cheering. But honestly: give it a chance. More beautiful than you think and cooler than you think. A bit of wine here, a bit of Christmas market there: good fodder for a weekend with your lover.
