At least, I don't know what you think of course, but the top 5 was quite surprising for me. Just like the position of the Netherlands, which I found to be a rather unpleasant surprise. We are in 27th place when it comes to the equal economic distribution of men and women. I will share some facts with you.

1. If we continue at this pace, it will take a hundred years before men and women are economically equal, for Western Europe that is over sixty years according to the annual Gender Gap Index.

2. Iceland ranks number 1 for the highest score in economic equality, followed by Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Nicaragua is in 5th place, followed by Rwanda, New Zealand, the Philippines, Ireland, and Namibia.

3. In the Netherlands, more than twice as many women work part-time as men.

4. 60% of women in the Netherlands were economically independent in 2018.

5. In the Dutch parliament, 36% are women.

6. The average working hours of Dutch women is 29 hours.

7. Women are overrepresented in higher education in the Netherlands. Are you still looking for a nice place to study? You can find the best work and study places here.

8. The highest percentage of women in top positions can be found in the non-profit sector, socio-economic sector, healthcare, and social organizations.

9. The target number is that 30% of women in the Netherlands will hold a high management position.

Brings me immediately to my next article, what we can learn from Scandinavia workwise to offer women the opportunity to work more and in better positions. To be continued.
