Isa Hoes shares a beautiful memory of Antonie
It's been over eight years already. And still, I can't help but get a lump in my throat when I hear ‘When I saw you’ somewhere.
Eight years ago, Antonie Kamerling committed suicide, leaving his wife Isa behind with their two children Merlijn and Vlinder. The two were married in 1997. He was her great love and vice versa. Yet it wasn't enough for him to hold on to life. She feels a little less pain, Isa shares in an honest message on Instagram. But her feelings for Antonie have never gone away.
She writes with a lovely photo: ‘Suddenly coming across this photo while doing your paperwork... and then feeling that you are over 8 years further and that the love is still there... so beautiful, so dear, so soft! Less pain, more gratitude for all the wonderful experiences!’
And she also touches others with her words. ‘Today I send all my love to all the women and men who have lost their great love in this life but who are still here... and also to their children..!’ What strength in this woman. Because you have to dare to share all of this with the world, that vulnerability. That vulnerability that can still exist even after eight years.
