Legend David Attenborough gets a new nature series

David Attenborough, also known as the man with the most soothing voice ever, is back. You may already know him (and have known him for a long time — the man is now 93 years old) as the voice-over for documentaries like Planet Earth, Frozen Planet and Our Planet. Right, actually everything that has to do with our planet. Do you think these documentaries are boring and dusty… Think again. Each docu has such special images, of our nature and the animals that live in the wild. I always find it something calming: David Attenborough's voice, breathlessly watching images of our world. A blanket and some popcorn or cheese and I am a happy person.

Well, there’s a new docuseries coming up. By and with David Attenborough. Seven Worlds, One Planet is the name and it is once again being released by the BBC. With music by Hans Zimmer (who has also been responsible for the music of The Lion King) and Sia as the singer. It really can't go wrong. Check the trailer below and then you know: this really can't go wrong.

In Seven Worlds, One Planet, a lot of use is made of drones, which provide a really sharp image from above. It's impressive how David Attenborough's documentaries (because besides being a voice-over, he is also a biologist and makes these documentaries) can capture wildlife without disturbing them. It's definitely a bit different than a day at Artis or Blijdorp where the lions are pacing back and forth in a cage.

Those ‘Seven Worlds’ represent each continent, also addressing what we are losing (like the wildfires in the Amazon region). Here and there quite serious topics, but with his voice I can listen for hours to world disasters. And honestly, seeing a blue whale, polar bears or snow leopards — in the wild, of course — that never gets boring, does it? I could watch that trailer on repeat all day.

On October 27, the entire series will be released. But yes, on the BBC. That means streaming. There's a good chance that Netflix will eventually take it over (the first collaboration between BBC and Netflix is now a fact and that first docu will be released in 2021), but I’m not going to wait for that. So that means streaming the BBC.
