Let me introduce: the new cast of La Casa de Papel

la casa de papel

Bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao ciao. Good morning on this Monday morning. Let me treat you to a song that you won't get out of your head for the rest of the day. Every time I hear this song again (and okay, confession: it's just in my favorites list on Spotify, so it comes back quite regularly), I find myself mumbling it for the rest of the day. Okay: humming. Okay: when I'm alone, just full on singing along. BELLA CIAO.

Because yes, sometimes you have that series that everyone agrees on: This. You. Must. See. For me, that was the first time with Breaking Bad. Wow, everyone was so lyrical about it, I must say. Now I have to honestly admit that I'm only just starting that series (way too late, yes, I know...), but with La Casa de Papel I was there from the beginning. Finally, I could join in the conversation with everyone who wanted to recommend this series to me, because ho, I was totally in.

If you have a Breaking Bad case with this series, you have until July 19, because then the third season is coming out again. So you have about three weeks to get to know Tokyo, Berlin, Nairobi, Río, Denver, and more. A lot more, because it has just been announced that five new gang members are joining. Hatseklatsss.

It’s quite obvious that these new gang members are also named after a place. Two women and three men will join us. The ladies are actually named Raquel and Monica, but go by Lisboa and Estocolmo in life. Is your Spanish a bit rusty? Got you: Lisbon and Stockholm then. The real names of the men are (still) not known, but we will mainly call them by the names Marseille, Palermo, and Bogota.

In style, the new five are introduced on the Twitter of La Casa de Papel. El Profesor hands them the well-known mask, which they obviously accept. If you want a face to go with the new cast members: check out the introduction round at the bottom.

Then just a quick check-up before season 3 starts. It mainly revolves around Río, who has been captured. This brings the gang (and the new members, yay) together. Their tactic? Go full on the attack, targeting a bank in Madrid, which they believe needs to be robbed. Understandable. So we can assume that it’s going to be as thrilling as usual.

Can't wait and really want to feel a bit like a Tokyoite? Go to the La Casa de Papel themed escape room in Utrecht. Fun, costume parties, and stress guaranteed. That time is ticking and I definitely get into a state of complete panic from that. TEMPO, TEMPO, TEMPO. Anyway, you should do it. Especially since it’s with a virtual reality headset. And did I mention that ‘Bella Ciao’ is continuously playing in the background? Party.
