@Lexielimitless is 21 and has traveled to 196 countries

She had the wind at her back travel-wise with parents who had a travel agency. She was often taken out of school for weeks or months to go to unexpected places. When Lexie Alford found out at 18 that she had visited 72 countries (you’re probably counting how many countries you’ve been to now, I did that right away), she smelled the Guinness Book of Records, because if she visited all 196 sovereign states, she would have this record in the bag.

So she saved up, searched for cheap flights, stayed in hostels, and tried to visit all the countries in the world as cheaply as possible. The last stop was North Korea, almost impossible due to the travel ban from America to North Korea. She managed to do it anyway, and then it was done. 196 countries in 21 years, that’s 9.3 countries per year.

What did she learn from her travels?

1. That anything is possible if you really want it
2. That you shouldn’t waste your money on unnecessary material things. That there is absolutely more good than bad in the world
3. That every time she was cut off from wifi, she seemed to open up to everything that was really happening around her
4. That you can learn from every country and every culture and that every country is accessible (some more than others, in some countries she found it difficult to travel as a woman alone, some countries were particularly expensive)
5. The earth always has new special places to discover

What should a person do when they have already achieved all this? Write a book, of course. Lexie, I’m in line.
