Mindhunter season 2: What we know so far

Well well well, some series really take their time, you know. I'm not the most patient person myself, but if you have to wait two years for a sequel, then I'm not happy with you. Two. Years. That's how long we have to wait for season 2 of Mindhunter. The first season came online in November 2017 and that was really quite a while ago. Correction: a very long time ago. Season 2 was announced, but then it remained eerily quiet. Until this week, because producer Charlize Theron slipped up during an interview. Luckily, because now we at least have a moment to look forward to: August 2019. Finally.
And how did it go again? Just a quick refresher course. Mindhunter is set in the 1970s and revolves around two FBI agents who have to solve murder cases. They do this by interviewing serial killers. Fun fact in between: this tactic is also used in real life, first in collaboration with Ted Bundy. With his ‘knowledge’, the Green State Killer was caught. The only positive thing he has accomplished in his life, I think. But anyway, in the last episode of season number one, we saw that Holden had quite a few psychopathic traits. I personally found this episode (number 10) the best and most exciting of the season. Cliffhanger well done, if you ask me. Doesn't that ring a bell? Check the recap at the bottom on YouTube.
But yes, then there was more than a year and a half of silence. That's a bit less, I must say, because I want to know how Holden's story continues. I personally think he will also go down the murderous path. Whether I'm right will probably only become clear in August, because there is still very little to find in terms of spoilers about season 2. However, there is much speculation that this season will consist of eight episodes.
The direction in which season 2 will go has also become a bit clearer: they will explore the Atlanta Child Murders. These murders took place from 1979 to 1981, and in those two years, no less than 28 children (and teenagers) were murdered. Many of the victims were African American, and the director of Mindhunter indicates that this will also be reflected in the musical score. So far, so good.
But the most famous murderer in the world, or at least one of the most famous, comes into the picture. If we are to believe the rumors, that is. They will also take a closer look at serial killer Charles Manson. If this turns out to be true, I am already very excited about season 2 and also very curious about how they will portray that on screen. Mindhunter is definitely an ideal series for true crime lovers (which I certainly am), but for those who don't always have the patience to watch a documentary (I'm often guilty of that too). A bit of Hollywood flair often makes it just a bit more exciting.
Well, and now we just have to wait for the trailer. I secretly expect that we can expect it any day now (or week? In any case, not months). And yes, we will drop that for you right away, of course. We got you covered.
