Must visit: the city of Dubrovnik

The nature of Croatia is something else. I've seen my fair share of the world so far, but Croatia is truly a stunner. After Plitvice that, Dubrovnik is on my must-visit list. I could casually type ‘list’, but that wouldn't do justice to my lengthy list. Let me explain why Dubrovnik.
Dubrovnik served as the model for Kings Landing in Game of Thrones, but that doesn't do the city much good as it sometimes suffers under the influx of fast tourists. But to be fair: the city walls and bay are a picture, so experts recommend going early or later in the day to avoid the crowds and see the real Dubrovnik. After that, it's time to get lost in the streets and on the back stairs of the Croatian city. Dive into wine bar D’Vino filled with local wines, choose a terrace that hangs over the cliffs, taste the best sandwiches in Dubrovnik, and don't forget to eat some fresh fish. And the city comes alive day and night, so you can dance until the sun comes up.
On Sunday morning, do as the locals of Dubrovnik do and have your coffee at Gradska Kavana Arsenal, there's a good chance you'll have a nice view of the procession towards the cathedral, where visitors are still dressing up nicely. By the way, the city isn't large, so it's quite manageable to visit in a weekend. It's something different than Barcelona, London, or Milan. What are you doing this weekend? Oh, just heading to Dubrovnik.
