Must visit: Vienna in winter

The snow certainly helps a bit, but did you know that the Christmas market in Vienna often gets the stamp of ‘most beautiful Christmas market’? The city is majestic in itself, but with a warm glühwein, lebkuchen, and thousands of lights, it becomes truly magical.
Vienna is teeming with Christmas markets, but the one at the Rathaus is the oldest and most famous, which is understandable considering it has been around for 700 years. On November 16, the stalls open up, and until December 24, you can immerse yourself in the Viennese atmosphere. The city center is on the UNESCO list and is therefore a World Heritage site. But at the end of November and in December, Vienna is just a little bit more special, with its grand Christmas tree, countless lights, and meticulously designed shop windows. If you want to do Christmas shopping anywhere, it’s here. It seems like a must-do, and you’re still on time to book now.
