’The wonderful evening has arrived... Not Sinterklaas, but a gift it certainly is: the new trailer for Stranger Things 3. Just to start your weekend off a little extra nice. Exactly a month ago, the first images were released and they all looked very promising. A swimming pool, a lifeguard, swimsuits, Speedos... ‘Summer in Hawkins’ was the name of that trailer. No clouds in the sky. And then out of nowhere this trailer. I can tell you: all clouds in the sky.

Well, we were already promised that season 3 would be ‘bigger, darker, scarier’. It seems they are keeping their word, because that new trailer looks good, guys. I am so looking forward to it: just two more weeks. July 4th  I'll be sitting in front of the TV to welcome Eleven and the gang back. If you're up to date and have seen the last episode of season 2 (if not: attention, attention – spoilers incoming), you know that the gang has closed the gate to the Upside Down. Well, they thought so, it turns out.

Because the Demogorgon (bless you) is back and it's not happy. And it's looking for a new host. In short: trouble is brewing. Eleven is determined that her body will not become the new host and wants to prevent that at all costs. That doesn't quite apply to Billy, who, if I can believe the trailer, lets the monster in. What's nice is that the gang is together a lot and collaborates a lot, and there's absolutely no shortage of horror.

So just two more weeks of waiting and we're going back to 1985 in Hawkins, where in the break between seasons a new swimming pool has appeared, a new shopping center, and we can expect a fair due to Independence Day. But the chance that it will go completely smoothly seems personally nil to me. And that shopping center also suffers from a complete blackout. Recipe for an exciting first episode.

The first episode will be called ‘Suzie, do you copy?’, so the big question is: who the F is Suzie? All the episode titles have already been released (and this season has eight, one less than the previous season), so the cliffhanger will be in the episode called ‘The Battle of Starcourt’. Yes, that is the shopping center I mentioned earlier. An abandoned, dark shopping center (especially at night) is a phobia I've had for years. It's always a kind of cliché for horror and slasher films for me. So a final episode that has exactly that as a setting... Okay, I'm in. But I do find it exciting.
