Ready in 4.5 minutes

Of all the times we've been to Disneyland, this was definitely the most memorable: seeing all the kids enjoy themselves together and Otis’ enthusiastic reactions to the attractions made me enjoy it twice as much. Although Otis found the Disney characters quite scary when they got too close, he has been calling out ‘Ami’ (‘Mickey’) around the house for a week now. Oh yes, a little less: the amount of merchandise purchased has doubled... Now that Otis is really playing with toys, it's of course a treat to take some nice souvenirs home. And then I have a good excuse to secretly play with the talking and oh so cool Toy Story dolls myself.

If I have ten minutes in the morning to shower, get dressed, and do my makeup, that's still rounded up. Most of the time, I'm getting Otis dressed downstairs, dripping from the shower because I haven't had time to dry off (since I'm busy drying Otis) and then I race upstairs to put something on and apply some cream, and there's often no real time for a nice makeup look. As a result, I suddenly see myself in the reflection at my first appointment of the day and a bare baby face stares back at me (and not in a good way). New quest: nice beauty products with which I can create a fresh and cozy look in five minutes. Hooray for the new Chanel Beauty Cruise collection, with nice compact makeup boxes that contain everything for a fresh look. One box for blush and highlighter and with the other I can create this beautiful eye makeup in no time. Stop the clock: this literally took me four and a half minutes, I'm signing up for that.

I have been very aware in the past few days of how blessed I am with the coolest trips for my work. It's not normal to be able to fly back and forth to Mexico for four days, go on beautiful excursions, and stay at the lovely Club Med Cancun Yucatan. Wandering around the beach in my lovely personalized Vogue T-shirt, visiting Chichen Itza, and finally, mom even got to go out one evening to the famous Coco Bongo. But, to be honest: the best trips are of course those with my lovely men. Luckily, we were at this beautiful location as a family last year and I can't wait to come back here again in that composition.

And during such a trip, I finally have time for things I don't get to do at home, such as: reading a magazine, painting my nails, putting a nice mask on that face, and this hair mask from Starskin that has been sitting on my bathroom shelf for two weeks. No one says anything about my silly shower cap; while I'm writing this piece, the coconut oil can work its magic, and after half an hour my hair feels like silk. Man oh man, I really need to schedule such a ‘pamper hour’ at least once a month at home...
