Oh, embarrassing: Jett Rebel seems ‘under the influence’ at DWDD

So you get to join one of the biggest talk shows in the Netherlands, chatting a bit about the Grammys while 1.4 million people are watching. Many artists would sign up for that. And yet, things didn't go quite smoothly for Jett Rebel last night. Or should I say: too smoothly?
Anyone who knows Jett Rebel (or should I say Jelte Tuinstra, as the singer is really called) a bit, knows that he wasn't averse to a little puff and a sniff. Yes, was, because he stopped using alcohol and drugs over two and a half years ago. And yet, Twitter exploded last night after the broadcast of De Wereld Draait Door, because, eh, he did come across as quite remarkable, right? (Check the broadcast here by the way, from minute 40, yo.)

Jett appeared – to the annoyance of many DWDD viewers – with sunglasses on. On Twitter, he is accused of coming across as ‘uninterested’, ‘absent’, and ‘completely out of it’. ‘Is there really no one who can bring themselves to remove that Jett Rebel, who appears under the influence at a public broadcaster? Outrageous.’, writes a viewer on Twitter. Another says: ‘Jett was doing so well without alcohol and drugs… I find it sad.’
This morning, his management released a statement: ‘No, dear people, Jett was not drunk. No, also not on crack. Or high. The answer is: one hundred percent no. Negative. He still uses zero point zero.’
Say friend, I don't know, but, like, how can you space out while being sober? Give me that recipe sometime.
