The 5 compelling reasons to go on vacation in winter

It is February and my skin color looks just like a glass of buttermilk. I am pale, tired, have roots, and a winter body. And then I see Lilian skipping into the office. But really literally skipping. She went to Dubai for eight days and is as good as new. She has caught up on sleep, is rested, cheerful, recharged, tanned, and overflowing with ideas. Basically everything that I am lacking today. These are the five reasons why I am booking a sunsnack TONIGHT now.. And you too.
- Lil woke up before the alarm this morning. Honestly, how long ago did that happen to you?
- Winter pimples that melt away like a scoop of stracciatella ice cream. And what about dark circles? Those are filled during such a sunny getaway by vitamin D. It is a quarter past two in the afternoon and the marks from my pillow are still on my mind.
- In Dubai and in many other places around the world, it is 20 degrees warmer than here. I have preferred to go out in a sleeping bag for a few months now. Every day I put on 62 layers of clothing because I am so so so cold. Well, Lil doesn’t have that problem anymore, she says. Her skin is still glowing from the Dubai sun.
- A gray sky, strong wind, intense cold, and 24-hour rain showers are not exactly the ingredients for a cheerful feed. Those photos during a sunny winter break also bring some life back to your Instagram.
- And after the wexit (get it?) that last piece winter is suddenly a piece of Pina Colada. No, but really, what are we even talking about? ‘Next month it will already be spring’, that was literally what Lil said today.
Skyscanner, passport, and debit card. That’s all I need tonight.
